DeBANJANA

CHATTERJEE

I am an architectural designer, urban planner, researcher, freelance designer, and educator. I currently serve as a Designer at Leo A Daly, and as a Research Assistant at Iowa State University for the Parametric and Reverse Design project. Previously, I taught and conducted research as an Assistant Professor at the Architecture and Planning department of Amity University, India. I have presented, published, and exhibited my work internationally.

I'm a creative soul with varying interests from graphic design, architecture to city planning.  Apart from dancing, painting, illustrating, and craft making, photography is my favorite hobby which led me to travel across the world, exploring a variety of places and cultures. Coming from a diverse country like India, I am interested to work on diversity, gender, equity and environmental issues in the design and architecture field.

I started freelancing as a designer from 2016 with the name of Ardour Art. To me, art is an emotion and my passion for expressing my emotion through my creative work - be it a sketch or a research proposal -  keeps me going every day.

I'm very pleased to recommend Debanjana based on her work as a student in Iowa State's M.Arch. program and as a teaching assistant. In studio and class she has been diligent, thoughtful, and produced excellent work in the design and technology coursework I've been involved with.
