THE LIVING-BATHROOM

Chatterjee, Nagdive

The Living-Bathroom is a conceptually futuristic and innovative bathroom solution especially designed for ageing population to facilitate the execution of routine tasks enhancing the perception of safety, and appealing design to reduce the fear of using it, taking into account that the new needs for access to sanitation, well-being or health has changed due to Covid19.

Fall is predominant in older adults and the implications of the cost of claims on MEDICAID is astronomical. This design outcome is a result of systematic literature review of 15 peer-reviewed journals on Fall history with an attempt to collate all cogent evidences therein in order to postulate how elderly adult falls can be mitigated by reducing the fear and risk of falling in independent living. Another objective of this project is to reduce the infection probability of Covid19 through bathroom setting.
